The Brahmaputra River is a trans-boundary river which flows through Tibet, India, and Bangladesh. Let’s see how many fishermen involves for fishing in the old Brahmaputra river at the Mymensingh area and what types of dam and which species are present in the river, and let’s listen to the importance of the day from the scientist of BCFRC. Swimways Bangladesh is a route of migratory fish. Some swim thousands of miles, migrating from their place of birth to locations where they can find food or suitable habitats to reproduce. They depend on free flowing rivers, lake and water fall.

River visit program was held at the Buriganga River in Dhaka. Convener Md Muzammel Hossain was joined and supported by online conference from Huazhong Agricultural University, China through fish craft making competition with Chinese students.

WFMD 2016 was a one day event to create worldwide awareness of the importance of freshwater migratory fish and open rivers for the general public, especially students and their teachers, resource managers and engineers, and commercial and recreational anglers, as well as those individuals who influence public policy that affect rivers. It was a global initiative with activities organized to reach these audiences.The event World fish migration day 2016 Bangladesh was celebrated successfully on 24 May, 2016 at the Department of Zoology, Jagannath University, Bangladesh. During the event, about 250 up audiences joined to celebrate this special vent of World Fish Migration Day 2016 in Bangladesh. The event started with the inauguration of art exhibition on the theme of the event by the students of schools and colleges who submitted the drawings on the suggestive templates on fish, river and people. more details. click
