Webinar on Swimway Bangladesh

BCFRC, world fish migration day 2020 Bangladesh successfully celebrated on 30 October, 2020 as virtual talk about Swimway Bangladesh in ZOOM due to COVID 19 pandemic. Swimway Bangladesh is a route of migratory fish. Some swim thousands of miles, migrating from their place of birth to locations where they can find food or suitable habitats to reproduce. They depend on free flowing rivers, lake and water fall. This event has been concern on individual topic that relate with fish and rivers of Bangladesh. All are enjoy virtual talk that have been held as an online video conference discussion. Buriganga River has been focused in this event due to water pollution and migratory route. Once upon a time, in 1975 migratory fish was available in the Buriganga river and also river dolphin is present in the Buriganga and Turag river.

 
 
   
Organizer and director Md Muzammel Hossain  delivered welcome speech in the event. Guest speaker Herman Wanningen of World Fish Migration Foundation, Groningen, Netherlands was enjoy the virtual event and presented activities of dam remove. Nasima Kabir was presented on "Identification of fish using DNA barcoding method". Bijoy Kumar Ghosh presented on "Fish Migration and Fish Pass in Bangladesh". Moumita saha bristy presented on "Fish dispersal in remote, isolated water bodies". Md. Mehadi Hasan Sohag reported on scope of Biotechnology in sustainable fish production: Bangladesh perspective. Special speaker Dr Mohammad Abdul Baki presented on current status of migratory fish and river of Bangladesh.
